Date: 21 Dec 2008 Sunday (Day 01)
10:40AM Prepared to go
10:55AM Reached Changi Airport Terminal 3
We went directly to the SIA Staff Travel Counter for check-in. Our scheduled flight was at 13:30 PM. Since it was still early, we were told to return at 12:45 PM before they can confirm our seats. The disadvantage of getting sub-load tickets.
We loitered around T3.
Spotted this “Rub it from Scratch”.
Bought a pack of Clarinase from Watsons for JR.
We took a rest at McDonald’s to pass time.
JR donated $2 to McDonald’s Children Charity.
JR blogging….
12:30PM Heading back
It’s almost time! Let’s head back to the counter to check on our seats.
SQ866 was delayed from 13:30PM to 14:00PM!
We were told to wait again… … … … …
Photos taken when we were waiting:

13:00PM Our seats were confirmed!
We were able to board the 14:00 PM flight. Happy JR.
We did some shopping at DFS. Bought some cosmetics for mummy and myself.
Lazy to walk all the way to our boarding gate, we decided to take the shuttle to A15, then walked back to A14.
Empty cabin.
BOARDING!
Our plane – SQ866.
JR: “Hurry up! We are late!”
13:30PM Waiting to board
We waited for our turn to board the plane. We then realised that most of the passengers had already boarded the plane.
13:35PM Boarding
13:45PM On the plane
JR & I were separated! But we were still next to each other, not so bad after all. We watched 10 Promises. Very touching movie…*sob*
15:15PM LUNCH! Finally…
What’s for lunch?
International or oriental??? JR & I chose the international meal.
Appetizer – Smoked Salmon with potato salad
Main course – Panfried chicken in coriander sauce with roasted vegetables and potatoes
Dessert – Ice cream
This was my first time that I finished the whole main course, appetizer and dessert on the airplane! Yummy… Maybe I’m too hungry.. haha…Â JR finished everything too, including the biscuits and bread that came along in the meal.
We finished 10 Promises and started watching Beverly Hills Chihuahua. About 10 minutes through it, the Captain announced that the plane was landing soon. So disappointed, we didn’t manage to finish the movie.
17:36PM Arrival in HONG KONG
I looked pale & tired.
Waiting for our luggage.
There it is!
JR almost missed our luggage!
18:06PM To the City
We bought the Octopus cards from the MTR counter. Each Octopus card contains 100 HKD value and requires a deposit of 50 HKD.
Can you see me posing in the photo?
This is me!
18:13PM On Airport Express
The 35.3 km journey between the Airport and the city takes only 24 minutes (minus waiting time).
The journey status can be seen here.
Baggage Compartment beside each door to place passengers’ luggages.
Our Octopus cards
1st transfer to the æ±æ¶Œ Tung Chung line at é’è¡£ Tsing Yi.
2nd transfer at è”景 Lai King to the èƒæ¹¾ Tsuen Wan line.
18:52PM Arrival at 太å Prince Edward station
We walked out of Prince Edward station and started searching for our hotel. We were totally lost! JR asked for directions from an old lady at the newspaper stand. She told us the wrong way – the opposite direction! Luckily, we doubted her “answer” and stayed put. We managed to spot our hotel after sometime. It is just opposite the MTR station.
19:08PM Metropark Mong Kok

Bought Jia Hui’s D80 and Tamron AF 18-270 mm lens for Nikon from CAM² ç›¸æœºä¼ å®¶. We got a flash from CAM² too. Our lens was bought from Wing Shing at the same price since CAM² haws no stock for the Tamron AF 18-270 mm lens for Canon cameras.
We also got a UV filter for our new lens.
Testing out the new lens…
Zoommmmmed.
JR’s favourite shopping mall.
We went in to have a look but most stalls were already closed (no idea why). We will be back another day.
We managed to buy the bubble bath from å“悦 Bonjour Cosmetic.
We took a slow walk back to the hotel.
We bought a big bottle of H2O and some batteries from the 7-eleven just next to our hotel.
