Date: 31 Jan 2009

6:00 AM Set off

Yes, we really took off at 6 AM, with only about 3 hours of sleep. We wanted to avoid the jam during this so called “super-peak” period.

Hmm… Where’s the jam???

9:00 AM Ayer Keroh

Food… we need food…

Breakfast at KFC

We got a plate of Nasi Lemak + 2 piece chicken.

View of the highway below us.

The number of insects that our Copen had killed.

10:30 AM Sepang Circuit – National Automobile Museum

We changed one of our driving licenses for the visitor pass.

National Automobile Museum

The museum is located at the Welcome Centre International Sepang Circuit.

The museum introduces the history of Malaysia’s transportation development. There is also a collections of cars that had been used in the early days of Malaysia. A segment on International Sepang Circuit with their annually event in sports motoring activities is also exhibited.

11:10 AM Continue our journey

11:50 AM Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur

The last time we visited this megamall was in 2005, before we got xx.

Pets Wonderland – We bought a pack of snacks and a collar for xx here in 2005.

Bought a top from Nichii.

The main reason why we were here.

We also dined here during our last visit.

Pineapple juice

My Nasi Lemak

Yum yum… It’s still as delicious…

JR was not hungry, hence we shared the dessert – Banana Junk.

It’s already 13:30 PM when we finished our lunch! No time for more shopping. Sorry Lynn, I’m unable to search for your cream…

JR paying the carpark fee. We were given 20 minutes to get out of the place.

13:40 PM Continue our journey

It’s getting cold….

And getting foggier.

Oh, we couldn’t even see the cars in front of us. There was even one point that we couldn’t see anything at all! Super exciting! Haha..

The fog got better as we drove. All the cars were driving at a very slow speed, some with their hazard lights on.

14:55 PM Genting Highlands

Approaching our hotel – First World Hotel.

The carpark was horrible. We spent almost an hour looking and waiting for a carpark slot.

FINALLY parked at 15:55 PM.

We took the lift up to the main lobby. OMG! There were thousands of people waiting at the lobby. I expected more waiting.

16:04 PM 1st check in

There was a short queue at the 1st check in point to get our details confirmed. We were issued with a queue number for the 2nd check in.

16:06 PM 2nd check in

Our queue number was flashed on the LCD screen almost immediately. We had to run to the check in counter 22.

We were given a choice – Mountain view or Theme Park view. We chose the room with Theme Park view.

Our room “keys”

16:19 PM Our Superior Deluxe Room

Spacious room

There no view from our room! We could only see whiteness through the windows – fog.

16:30 PM Tour around Genting

Our first task was to book the tickets for the night performance of Dreamz! We wanted to book the tickets online initially but were unable to decide on the seats.

The performance is about a competition for the love of a princess between 2 great illusionists.

Extracted * The story begins when the princess awakens in a realm ruled by the power of fantasy. When the contest for her affection intensifies so does the battle to control the illusion world.*

The show includes live animals – white lion, white tiger and dogs.

JR getting the Dreamz tickets. We took a peek into the Pavilion theater before deciding on the seats.

Our tickets

Never forgetting to watch a movie at Genting. We watched 3 movies here during our last visit!

Decided to watch a CNY film – All’s Well Ends Well. I loved to watch Hong Kong’s movies here as they will be showed in Cantonese instead of duped Chinese.

Lovely Lace

This is one of my favourite shop! I even bugged JR to come all the way here some time ago. We visited the outlet in Johor’s Jusco Shopping Centre instead after we knew that there’s an outlet there.

They have really beautiful wedding & lace ornaments. I love their fragance items too, especially the roses ones.

We have the wedding pillow that’s shown on the bottom right of the photo. I’m going to get more of their items – e.g. the lamp shades for my next house. Hahaha…

Puppies!

Guess what did we buy? I got for myself a puppy and a large teddy bear.

Bought mineral water from the convenient store near door.

Hmm….

Muffins

JR was hungry… He got 2 pieces of Vanilla Muffins for himself.

17:30 PM Back to our room

Back to our room to drop off our purchases and to take a short rest before dinner.

My mini xx.

And big teddy!

19:55 PM Dinner at Kenny Rogers

I’m hungry! Where’s my food???

My chocolate & JR’s banana muffins.

JR’s Winter drink

My Summer drink

My quarter chicken with the 3 sides (mashed potatoes, pasta salad & marconi with cheese).

20:45 PM Dreamz

Finished our dinner and headed to the Pavilion. No photography is allowed during the whole performance :(. Anyway, the show was great! There was a live band there that both of us enjoyed a lot. The lion & tiger are magnificent and the head mover and body sawing into half segments are amazing. I wonder what’s the trick behind them. The only disappointment was that the performance with the dogs was super short. Think the dogs had stage fright. Hahaha…

22:35 PM Show ended

There’s some more time before the movie at 23:15 PM. We took a slow walk over to the movie theater.

We met God of Fortune on the way! $$$

Me with a Dreamz poster

We bought a bottle of ribena drink and a pack of popcorns before entering the theater.

Haha.. Look at the seats – self made cinema.

Oh, I looked tired.

Free snack given out at the entrance.

The movie – All’s Well Ends Well

01:30 AM GOOD NIGHT!

Date: 01 Feb 2009

08:45 AM Breakfast

We decided to wake up earlier for breakfast since the free buffet provided was from 8 to 10:30 AM. The crowd there was horrible! There wasn’t alot of food selections and there’s no seats allocated to us.

We found seats after getting the food.

JR’s

Mine

We walked back to our hotel room after breakfast to catch up with our sleep.

09:30 AM to 11:30AM SLEEPING

11:45 AM Preparing to check out

Our luggage were packed and we were ready to leave.

Check out – We had to check out manually as I need to have the receipt to claim for holiday subsidy.

Long & messy queue at the lifts to the carpark.

12:40 PM Got to our car & set off

We met a family taking photos with our lovely Copen in the carpark. Once again, our Copen has become a tourist attraction.

We didn’t stop for shopping on the way back.

The twisted bottle due to the change in air pressure.

JR speeds again

We stopped by Ayer Keroh on the way back.

Tea break… Too bad A&W waffles ice-cream was sold out.

17:40 PM Back to Singapore

We had wanted to shop round JB and have dinner there before heading back to Singapore. But we were afraid that there will be a jam there hence changed our plans.
