It’s finally here at last – our long awaited trip of the year 2010. This time we will be travelling with 2 others, my MIL & JZ. Our initial plan was to visit Europe this year since we had been to USA in 2009 but my MIL is more keen on visiting the States.

1. Flight

05 Nov 2010 – Applied for our air tickets

22 Nov 2010 – Received notification that we got our tickets!

JZ and my MIL bought their tickets much earlier. They will be taking Emirates instead of SIA since the former is much cheaper.

2. Itinerary

21 Dec 2010 – A difficult road trip to plan, starting from New York to Orlando. Should we visit Washington DC or Miami? Where to stay during the long drives between New York and Orlando? How many hours should we drive in a day?

Printed out the entire itinerary.

3. Accommodation

11 Dec 2010 – We will be staying at EIGHT different hotels in total.

4. ESTA application

09 Dec 2010 – The Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA)that we had applied last year is valid for 2 years and it was FREE! It is chargable now and JZ & my MIL had to pay $14 USD each.

5. Travel Insurance

19 Dec 2010 – Bought an annual couple travel insurance. We intend to travel a few more times for the year, hence purchased an annual package.

6. $$$

21 & 22 Dec 2010 – Bought our USD from Mustafa and Arcade.

7. Internet Check In

21 Dec 2010 – CHECKED IN! I had forgotten to check in via SIA Online Check In on Monday night, i.e. 48 hours before the flight. There weren’t much seats left for selection when I did the check in on 21 Dec 10 afternoon.

8. Packing up

23 Dec 2010 – Packing up to 4 AM is not fun! Finally completed our packing hours before the flight. We had bought several new Winter clothing specially for this trip, hoping they will be able to keep us warm. We are now all prepared for the trip.

Flight socks in preparation of the long long flight.

Neck safe

Our thermal underwear

New pair of gloves

Earmuffs

Inflight Adaptors

Trolley Shopping Bag

Say Bon Voyage to us!
