11:10 AM 外滩 The Bund

We took a cab from Yuyuan garden to The Bund.

We walked along the lower street of The Bund, enjoying the lovely old architectures there

JR with Oriental Pearl Tower in the background.

The Bund Bull

It looks exactly the same as the Wall Street Bull in NYC!

With the financial buildings over the Huangpu river.

Examining the map for our next destination.

Heading for the Oriental Pearl Tower, which is located on the opposite side of The Bund. We could either take a cab there or use the Bund Sightseeing tunnel to cross the Huangpu river. Decided to take the tunnel.

11:40 AM 外滩欢光隧道 Bund Sightseeing Tunnel

Purchased the package tickets for the sightseeing tunnel and Oriental Pearl Tower.

There wasn’t many people and it make us wonder why. What we will see in the tunnel? We went further in and realised that it was actually a ride across the tunnel. I had thought that we need to walk all the way across.

We got onto a tram cabin with 2 others. Here we go!

The ride was quite “interesting”. There was nothing to see except for the lights, which entertained us along the way.

What a way to earn our money!

11:55 AM 东方明珠塔 Oriental Pearl Tower

Similar to Yuyuan Garden, the place was packed with tourists, gathered outside the Oriental Pearl Tower. We hurried pass the crowd into the tower before the tour groups.

It was a long walk from the entrance of the tower to the lift lobby. We were very lucky that the queue was quite short.

We were brought up to the sightseeing floor at 259 meters.

We caught the beautiful view of Shanghai City. However, we didn’t find this any special since we had went up to Tokyo Tower, Taipei 101, Rockefeller The  Rock and Christ the Redeemer. We went down 1 level to the next observation deck.

We enjoyed the cold breeze as we walked around the observation deck. The ground of the outer half of the observation deck is made of glass, allowing us to view the scenery below through our feet. It didn’t sound scary but for some reason, both JR & I were afraid to walk on the glass. It was a million times more scary as compared to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

We were here!

We dared each other to walk out and sit on the glass floor.

I like the round big “overhead” bridge.

Goodbye Oriental Pearl Tower…
