11:00 AM Hotel PJ Seoul
Good morning again! We were at the hotel carpark to catch the 11 AM shuttle to the subway station. The driver refused to drive us and said that it was not time to go. We didn’t understand him and decided to take a cab instead.

We alighted from the cab at Gyeongbokgung. We decided to have lunch first at Tosokchon, famous for its Samgyetang.

85-1 Chebu-dong, Jongro-gu, Seoul, South Korea
It took us about 10 mins to walk from the main entrance of Gyeongbokgung to Tosokchon. From Gyeongbokgung station exit 2, walk straight towards Hyoja-dong and turn left at the first road, after GS25. We spotted Tosokchon at once after turning into the small road.
There was no queue and were brought to one of the rooms in the restaurant. It was a huge hanok (Korean traditional) restaurant, which can seat 420 customers. We had to take off our shoes and sit on the floor.
The menu
2 pots of side dishes, cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi, placed in the middle of the table.
Each customer is served with a cup of tea and a small cup of ginseng wine, which we guessed it can either be added to the Samgyetang or drank directly.
Waiting for our Samgyetang.
Our Samgyetang were served to us in less than 5 minutes.
JR’s special Samgyetang, with å±±å‚ & åŸ¹å…»æ ¹.
Yum, yum, yum.
The meal was not cheap but it was the best Samgyetang we had so far.
12:40 PM Leaving Tosokchon Samgyetang
Look at the long queue outside! Lucky we were early.
Getting drink at GS25.
