Date: 30 December 2012 Sunday
The Gardens by the Bay was newly opened earlier this year (2012). We did not have any plans of visiting the City Garden as we knew that it would be very crowded since it is new. Wei Ling came across a good deal online and gave us 2 entry tickets! Thank you very much!
On our way to Gardens by the Bay…
Gardens by the Bay comprises 2 cooled conservatories, the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome.
The Cloud Forest
Entering the Cloud Forest.
Shortly after entering the Cloud Forest, we were cooled down by the cool moist conditions of the enclosed conservatory. The 35 metre waterfall provides visitors with refreshing cool air.
Flowers…
The bushfires… it feels like winter…
The Flower Dome

The Supertree Grove
Garden by the Bay is surrounded by unique designed vertical large canopies that provide shade in the day and display light and sound at night. These unique trees, aka Supertrees, are created to balance the tall developements in the Marina Bay area.
Providing scale and dimension to the Gardens while marrying the form and function of mature trees, the Supertrees also create height to balance the tall developments in the Marina Bay area. Take a stroll along the OCBC Skyway, a 128-metre long walkway that connects the two 25-metre Supertrees at the Supertree Grove, and take in a different view of the Gardens.
