16:15 PM Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile

A: Saint-Paul
B: Charles de Gaulle – Étoile
Total travelling time = 15 minutes

It was a short ride from Saint-Paul to Charles de Gaulle – Étoile. The Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, located in the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle, just above the Charles de Gaulle – Étoile Station.  We didn’t stay too long admiring the landmark since we were running late for our afternoon tea.

16:30 PM Le Bar Long @ Le Royal Monceau

A: Paris Gare du Nord
B: Le Bar Long @ Le Royal Monceau
Total walking distance | time = 0.65 km | 8 minutes

I had made the reservations about a week before our trip. Le Bar Long was selected after nights of research on afternoon teas in Paris prior to this trip. One of the reasons for choosing this place is because their pastries, scones, macarons and chocolates are from Pierre Hermé Paris.

Our table

We ordered the Royal Afternoon Tea and a Mushroom Cream Soup.

Hot Chocolate – Thick, rich and BITTER… Almost got a sore throat after drinking this.

Our 24 € soup! Very tasty but I prefer the one I had at Langham Place in Hong Kong.

Assorted Tea Sandwiches

Pierre Hermé Paris Pastries

Pierre Hermé Paris Scones served warm with Devon double cream, Ispahan jam

Pierre Hermé Paris Macarons and Chocolates

18:15 PM Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile

We were back to the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile for phototaking. Due to the heavily congested roundabout, visitors who wish to get to the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle are recommended to use the underpasses located at the Champs Élysées and the Avenue de la Grande Armée. We didn’t get to the center, partially because we were lazy to walk over :). We were satisfied to take photos from afar.

Walking away from the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile.

It’s shopping time along Champs Élysées, one of the most famous streets in the world! The Avenue is well known for its upscale shopping.

Louis Vuitton Flagship store in Paris

SHOP SHOP SHOP… … It was 7+ PM in the evening when we came out of Louis Vuitton. The sky was already dark and most of the stores were already closed / closing.  It was drizzling and we didn’t have an umbrella.

Couldn’t remember what I used to cover my head. I looked silly but couldn’t care that much as I couldn’t afford to get sick then. Since we were still full from our afternoon tea, we skipped dinner but we grabbed a pack of sandwiches from the supermarket besides our apartment on the way back.
