07:00 PM Leaving Antoine et Chocolat
The alarm woke us up at 6 AM. We washed up, got dressed, completed our final packing and cleaned up the apartment before leaving.
All ready to leave!
We left at 7 AM as planned, giving ourselves ample time to claim our EU tax refund at the airport. To save all the trouble of carrying all the luggage himself to the metro station (I shouldn’t be carrying any heavy items), JR suggested that we take a cab to the airport. It wasn’t difficult to get a cab early in the morning. There were already many cabs waiting at the cab stand in front of our apartment.
18:45 AM Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) Terminal 1
The ride to the airport wasn’t long. We arrived at the airport before 8 AM and went directly to Global Blue for our tax refunds. We were 3 hours before the departure time of our flight. My colleagues had warned me to arrive early for our tax refunds because of the long queue. HP & ZY said they had to queue more than 2 hours when they were here a few months ago. We were shocked when we saw the Global Blue counter. There was NOBODY in the queue! We went up to the counter and submitted the necessary documents, got them stamped and placed them in the given envelopes. The officers didn’t request to see our purchases. We met with a small problem because JR mixed up 2 of the documents. We had to open the envelopes and reseal them up with the tape from Global Blue (Global Blue sent us to SQ to get tape, SQ sent us back to Global Blue to get tape). We did our check in and went for breakfast.
Not many choices for breakfast. We had breakfast at a random restaurant.
Spaghetti
Ham sandwich
which came with potato chips! The ham in the sandwich was uncooked… I ate without the ham.
Long queue to clear customs… Shopping again. Our last chance of shopping in Paris. JR bought a Ballerine Varina Flats for me ♥.
11:00 AM Goodbye Paris!
Goodbye Paris! JR & I had the 3 seater row to ourselves.
Supper!
I didn’t get much sleep again on the flight back to Singapore but it was slightly better compared to our SIN-LON flight.
