Date: 28 Mar 2015 Saturday
It all started when JR was sent on a 1-week business trip to Jacksonville, Florida. We used this opportunity to bring R to USA since we could save on 1 ticket. As we had last visited New York in our previous USA trip in 2010, this time we planned to revisit California. However, I was afraid of bringing our 20 month old R alone on the flight hence I asked my mum to join us.
On board SQ16 to ICN.
R pulling our hand luggage during our transit in ICN.
Finally asleep…
It was R’s first long haul flight. R was so restless throughout the flight, refused to sit still and kept running everywhere, in & out of the galley and up & down the aisle. We chased after her countless of times until the both of us (my mum & I) were exhausted. She even ask for peanuts from the passenger next to us, fell couple of times along the aisle and got hit by one of the trolley doors in the galley 😫. It was that bad… once was enough, no more long haul flights for her.
12:45 PM San Francisco International Airport
Landed in San Francisco at LAST! JR was already waiting for us at the arrival hall when we arrived. We took the AirTrain to the Rental Car Center to pick up our car from Hertz.

Our car for this trip
14:00 PM Hillsdale Shopping Center
Our first stop was at Hillsdale Shopping Center for lunch.
Boudin Bakery & Cafe
We came here just for the soup!
We left shortly after lunch.
*The Boudin Bakery & Cafe at Hillsdale Shopping Center is permanently closed now.*
We dropped by a Babies R’ Us to get a stroller for R along the way to the hotel.
16:00 PM Hilton Garden Inn Gilroy
Arrived at the hotel that we would be staying for the day.
We loved the lobby, especially the fireplace.
17:30 PM Gilroy Premium Outlets
Good sales at Coach, but I only purchased a wristlet because I have too many bags.
20:30 PM In-N-Out Burger
It was our first time at In-N-Out. The fast food restaurant was packed with people but we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The burgers were very good! I wondered how we could miss it during our last trip… We called it a day after dinner since we needed our rest after the long flight.
