12:30 PM ê²½ë³µê¶ (景ç¦å®®) Gyeongbokgung
It was still drizzling when we arrived at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Only after checking with the information centre then we knew that the changing of guards ceremony was cancelled for the day due to the rain. What a disappointment.
Leaving…
King Sejong Statue
The rain got heavier as we walked. We ran to the nearest shelter, one of the entrances of Gwanghwamun Station.
12:55 PM Gwanghwamun Station
We took the subway to Myeong Dong. It was still raining really heavily and we were stuck at Uniqlo, which is just next to Myeong Dong Station. We did some shopping on the upper levels that we missed out the previous day. We had planned to visit the Seoul Cultural Exchanges & Tourism Information Center @ M Plaza. M Plaza is located next to Forever 21. The problem was I had forgotten where Forever 21 is! I went out alone in the heavy rain to racee but still couldn’t find it. JZ spotted it finally on the map. We braved the strong wind and heavy rain over to M Plaza to register to try the Hanbok traditional clothes. We got the 16:20 PM time slot. We had about 2 hours to walk around Myeong Dong. We shopped around at Forever 21, Daiso, etc…
15:10 PM Dog Cafe @ Myeong Dong
I brought MIL & JZ to my favourite place in Myeong Dong :).
Our drinks – Orange juice, ice green tea mocha and ice green tea.
So cute…
16:00 PM Seoul Cultural Exchanges & Tourism Information Center @ M Plaza
We were back at the Seoul Cultural Exchanges & Tourism Information Center.
Free postcards and postal services are provided at the center. We kept ourselves occupied with the postcards while waiting for our 16:20 PM slot.
Sending cards to ourselves 🙂 and Mummy…

19:45 PM Dinner @ 王妃家 Wang Bi Ga
After M Plaza, we shopped at Lotte Department Store and the beauty stores in Myeong Dong. I brought them to 王妃家 Wang Bi Ga restaurant, one of the BBQ place which we went in April, when we were finally hungry enough for dinner.
Yummy! I finally remembered to use the discount coupons that I brought along. It had been a long day so we decided to head back to our hotels. We took the subway back and parted ways at Chungmuro Station. It was my first time travelling alone on the subway in a foreign country late at night – changed trains, travelled for another 8 stations, arrived at Express Bus Terminal Subway Station, walked back to the hotel along the underground closed shops… finally back to the hotel room safely, ending my first day as “tour guide” in Seoul :).
